Ralph "Old Man Galetti" Bio

(Abbreviated, of course!)

Ralph "Old Man Galetti" was born and raised near Pittsburgh, PA. His love of music started at an early age, probably around 3 years old. Writing songs and playing and singing in cover bands since he was 13, he says, "Music was my first love and is still my drug of choice." He currently lives with his wife, Suzi, in Albuquerque, NM and their 3 children and grandchild nearby. He performs regularly with his cover band, Disclaimers. "It keeps my chops up and my voice in shape. I get such a kick out of re-creating the keyboard (and sometimes horns and sax) sounds and vocals of hit songs for our wonderful fans. Between us 4 bandmates we have over 150 years of experience playing live music. We all agree, this is THE BEST cover band we've ever been in!" You can check them out at www.Facebook.com/DisclaimersRock and www.DisclaimersRock.us. If you can, check out one of their live shows around Albuquerque--it's a blast! Old Man Galetti is on a mission to record pretty much every song he's ever written, "so there will be a very public record of all my creations. It's really quite exhilarating when I work on something from the past and finally finish it with my more mature perspective. It's like I'm collaborating with my younger self!" He also has a great network of extremely talented friends and musicians (sometimes both, friends AND musicians in the same talented body!) who help him create and produce his songs.

He has a somewhat unlikely combination of musical influences: Abba, Alphaville, Tori Amos, Anberlin, Asia (and Geoff Downes), B-52s, Blondie, The Book of Love, The Buggles (and Trevor Horn), Kate Bush, The Cars, The Cult, Dada, Def Leppard, Dishwalla, The Dream Academy, Yvonne Elliman, Eve 6, Flesh for Lulu, Flight of the Conchords, Fountains of Wayne, Goo Goo Dolls, Erik Hassle, Don Henley, INXS, Billy Joel, Freedy Johnston, Howard Jones, Journey, Paul Kelly & The Messengers, The Korgis, Chris Kowanko, Ladytron, Cyndi Lauper, The Lover Speaks, M83, Marillion, MGMT, Midge Ure (and Ultravox), The Naked and Famous, The National, Neon Trees, Nick Heyward, Oasis, Off Broadway, Steve Perry, Peter Bjorn & John, PM Dawn, The Postal Service, The Primitives, Q-Feel, Chris Rea, Rumblefish, Rush, Saga, Shiny Toy Guns, Sia, The Sighs, Simple Minds, Sponge, Talk Talk, Tears for Fears, Tegan and Sara, They Might Be Giants, The Ting Tings, Toto, Tribe, Billy Squier, Suzanne Vega, Your Vegas, XTC, and Zebra, to name a few!

Old Man Galetti calls himself that as a defiant rejection of the idea that anyone's too old to still be rockin'! There are a lot of inspirational examples of people still creating and performing music well into their golden years. At the tender age of 59, "I plan on doing this for decades to come! It's this magical combination of hard-earned wisdom and knowledge I've garnered coupled with the immaturity and downright silliness I've managed to keep alive and well that helps drive my creative process." Keep on rockin', OMG fans!
